Pedestrian Safety Trainings for Law Enforcement
Pedestrian Safety Trainings for Law Enforcement is a TxDOT Safety grant funded training program designed to update Law Enforcement Agencies on laws that impact pedestrian safety.
The Training Will Cover:
- Changes to the Texas transportation code that impact pedestrian safety.
- Applying a Safe Systems approach to making our streets and roads safe to give all Texans the freedom to walk or use personal mobility devices.
- How high speeds impact the safety of every road user, especially pedestrians, and what to do about it.
- The importance of data and mapping in shaping our approaches to pedestrian safety and enforcement.
These trainings are available free to Texas law enforcement and partnering agencies as 2-hour in-person trainings, with eligibility for 2 hours of TCOLE credit for in-person trainings.
